2006-06-17 Edmonton Svtoa On Track Trip/
For the club that I am the director of (www.svtoa.ca), I arrange a track day once a year. This year we had a great mix of cars now that we don't use Ford's insurance coverage anymore.
I left Calgary on Friday and stopped off in Red Deer to visit Cam @ Lightspeed. I borrowed his welder to fix my downtube of the header. It cracked when I broke my last engine mount.
Then a few other Calgary SVTOA members met us and we all drove up to Edmonton together.
Checking in at the Four Points of Sheraton, I managed to get behind the counter to repair their broken computer and in return got a business class suite for regular room cost. Awhhh yah, style'n.
Then down to the pub, I hit up a few drinks and met most of the crew that would be participating in our Track Day.
Saturday was awesome as all the cars showed up and the groals of the SVT Cobra exhausts... yum! I spent the day in the tower observing all from above. I managed to get my car out for one run, but hopefully come September I'll have enough volunteers to share the load. Western Motor Sports sends up a few of their professional race car drivers to instruct the participants. This year they brought up Bill's new Corvette.
Following the event, one of our members had invited us for a BBQ. Then back to the hotel for a needed night sleep.
