2009-11-04 Calgary What A Waste
While browsing the Canada Revenue Agency's website today, not only did I discover a potential vulnerability with their search engine but I was also surprised to discover the ridiculous ammount of *cough* html comments HAHA. Not only is there a comment for practically every html tag, but they are also commented in both English and French!!
So what made me chuckle was the french comments. Think about this, who in Canada really can't speak english? And if you couldn't speak english, why are html tags and javascript all in english? Ever seen a french compiler? The comments are of course redundant, and the french is just outright silly.
It's funny to notice how lengthy the comments are also. And people wonder why we need larger pipes? I guess we need more bandwidth for the Canadian Government websites that transmit more English/French html comments then the html itself!
Someone justified their job by coming up with that requirement I bet. Some tax leach (aka government employee) decided they were going to draft up architectual requirements for all government websites. We have English/French labels on our milk containers, why not our html code? ..... Someone should introduce the ID parameter these people. Uh sorry, I mean "un devrait presenter le parametre ID".
As for the vulnerability, I'll leave that to you to find yourself.
